Chinese Proverb
It was on the dog year, I was inspired to
illustrate this beautiful Chinese proverb for my yearly New Year card.
In the same year there was a postcard
contest of the theme of "Love at First Sight" which was organized by the society of children's book writers and illustrators in Paris for the
seminar with Tomie de Paola and Martha Rago (HarperCollins Children's books).
My illustration of the Chinese Proverb is
the love story between the dog and the singing bird, so I entered this
illustration to the contest, and I won the first prize!
This encouraged me to work on the series of
proverbs with the animals from Chinese horoscope.
