Faire le point

"Faire le point."

When I worked in a French advertising agency, we used to say this French expression every so often — "On fait le point". It means "to take a bearing.",
to review, to analyze, and to refocus on the work.

Lorsque je travaillais pour une agence de communication Française, nous utilisions très souvent l'expression "On fait le point".

"Faire le point." is an expression used in sailing,

it means "measuring the position of the ship".

"Faire le point" est une expression de marine,
elle signifie "relever la position du navire".

This week I am taking a bearing — "je fais le point".

Cette semaine, "je fais le point".

I have many unfinished projects, I have to decide which one to refocus first.

J'ai plusieurs projets non terminés, je dois décider sur lequel me re-concentrer en premier. 

My spring art show is coming up at the end of April at Le Beffroi,

so that's what I need to focus now. 

Mon exposition de printemps arrive fin avril au Beffroi, c'est donc sur ceci que je dois me concentrer maintenant.

I have a children book project which's been sleeping for 13 years:

"Liana — The chameleon unlike any other".

This year I will finish this little book.

J'ai un projet de livre pour enfants qui est en sommeil depuis 13 ans :

"Liana - Le caméléon différent des autres".

Cette année je vais terminer ce petit livre. 

"Liana — The chameleon" will be exhibited at the Beffroi this year.

"Liana — Le caméléon" sera présenté au Beffroi cette année.
